A hand-sewn leather cover, not a slip-on sleeve. This kit wraps your original RAM steering wheel rim in genuine leather and is stitched on by hand, so there is no thick rubber lip under your palms. Needle, pre-waxed thread, tape and a printed guide are all in the box.

Which RAM models and years it fits

Choose your model and year from the dropdown. Each pattern is cut per generation, so a cover cut for one generation will not close at the seam on another.

What is in the box

Leather cover panel, pre-waxed thread, two blunt needles, double-sided tape for positioning, plastic wedge tool and a printed step-by-step guide. No other tools are needed.

Installation

1. Wipe the rim clean and let it dry completely.
2. Slip the cover over the rim and centre the seam at 12 o'clock.
3. Tape the panel in place while you align both edges.
4. Stitch from the centre outwards in a cross-stitch pattern, firm but not tight.
5. Tie off inside the seam at the bottom spoke and tuck the tail.

Most first-time installs take 40–60 minutes. The cover wraps the rim only and does not cover the airbag cover in the centre of the wheel.

Before you start: a stitched cover is fitted differently from a slip-on one. Warming it with a hairdryer will not make it stretch and can dull the leather finish. The step-by-step installation guide covers alignment, stitching tension, and what to do if the seam ends up off-centre.

Lead time and shipping

These covers are cut to the wheel patterns listed above after the order is placed. They are not held as finished stock, which is why the timeline is longer than a universal slip-on you can buy off a shelf.

Care

Wipe with a damp microfibre cloth. For deeper cleaning use a pH-neutral leather cleaner, then air dry away from direct sun. Do not use alcohol, bleach or abrasive pads.

Common questions

Will it slip when my hands are wet? The grip side is unfinished leather, so it absorbs moisture rather than gliding over it, and it grips better as it breaks in.

Why hand-sewn instead of slip-on? A stitched cover follows the rim shape and stays thin, so there is no thick rubber lip under your palms and it will not rotate over time. The factory leather stays underneath.

Will it smell? New genuine leather has a light, temporary smell that fades within a few days.
